If you join us as a trainee, you’ll be supported right the way through your exams to the completion of your ACA qualification. We’ll make sure you get the right mix of knowledge, skills and on-the-job experience that you need to become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.
We’ll also fund your classroom studies for each study module with our specialist education provider and you’ll get the relevant time off to study for and sit your exams. At the end of the programme, you’ll come away with valuable technical skills, great commercial understanding and varied sector experience.
Importantly, the big difference between us and one of the larger accountancy firms is that we won’t put you under pressure to complete your exams quickly, as we’d much rather you sit them when you’re ready and will most likely succeed.
Who are we looking for?
We’d love to hear from you if you’re a recent graduate with good A levels and at least a 2.1 in your degree.
We’re also keen to hear from those who have started their training with another firm but are now looking to move on and continue their studies elsewhere.
Accountancy Trainees
As one of our trainees, you’ll be actively supported through the ICAEW qualification process.
We actively encourage our trainees to achieve chartered status at the earliest opportunity, but without putting them under undue pressure.
We fund your study through each stage of the ACA exams with our chosen learning provider, supporting you through two attempts at each level – Certificate, Professional and Advanced. And of course, we’ll provide you with Study Leave at each stage, which works out at around 100 days over the duration of your training contract.
You will also be eligible for a schedule of salary increases, in addition to our annual salary review, tied to your progress.

What attracted me to THP was its forward-thinking approach to work-life balance, offering hybrid working, flexitime, and a genuine commitment to employee well-being. I was also drawn to its strong focus on growth and development, especially the encouragement and support for professional exams. This made my decision to join an easy one, as I wanted to be part of a company that invests in its people. Since arriving, I’ve seen firsthand how this care extends beyond colleagues to clients, ensuring their needs are always met. The combination of flexibility, motivation, and a supportive team has made my experience at THP incredibly rewarding so far.

Prior to joining THP, I worked at Ernst & Young LLP for 5 years. When I decided to relocate to London, I started job searching and had a few interviews. I was drawn to THP because of the focus on work-life balance alongside study support and I felt this, as well as the opportunity to work directly with directors, offered me invaluable experience. My experience at THP has been amazing so far! The people are incredibly friendly, and the work environment is really calm. I’ve found the culture to be very welcoming, and I’m enjoying the opportunities for professional growth and development.
Adi, ACA Trainee
Before I joined THP, I worked at a top 15 accountancy firm in the City. I was drawn to THP because of the extent of audit work it offers, and this is important to me at this stage in my career. I was also looking to continue studying for my ICAEW exams and THP were able to offer this to me. The timing worked out well! Since joining, I’ve found THP a very enjoyable place to work; my day-to-day role is varied – no two days are the same and this really motivates me!
