Do I need cloud accounting software?
The best software? It depends on your needs!

Many of our new clients ask me what the best cloud accounting software is for their business.
I normally recommend Xero or FreeAgent.
One’s great for freelancers and smaller businesses. The other’s really good for larger and growing firms. Let’s take a look at which one’s best for you!
Which cloud accounting software should I choose?
There are dozens of cloud accounting packages out there. We’ve put dozens of them through their paces, but we believe that two stand head and shoulders above the crowd.
- For freelancers, contractors and smaller business, we recommend FreeAgent
- For larger companies, we recommend Xero
Why? Well, both are excellent platforms. But when it comes to handling more complex financial data, Xero really lets larger business drill down to the detail. We advise our clients which is the best match for them.

Your questions about Cloud Accounting answered
Not necessarily. If you’re happy with your current cloud accounting software, that’s great. At THP we are experienced in using most major software packages, so we can still do your accounts for you. Just one thing to remember – if you want to integrate our bookkeeping services, you’ll need to use either Xero or FreeAgent.
Absolutely! If you become a THP client, we will give you a tour of both Xero and FreeAgent. We’ll show you how to use the features you need and lots of clever, time-saving tricks. We’ll also recommend which package is the best fit for your business, both for now and in the future. Of course, the final choice is always up to you!
